Hi Christopher,
I stumbled upon your blog post on our Dragon's Den segment while doing a Google search and thought I'd add my two cents. Thanks for the nice things you had to say about Jonathan and me but I'm going to take umbrage at being termed "greedy" (not that we aren't, indeed, greedy about growing our market share).
What viewers of the show see is the edited version of a fairly long shoot. The guitar playing part of our segment took place within 30 seconds of our entrance so Kevin had already fallen in love with the guitar by the time the negotiations you saw took place. Everyone on both sides of the table knew we were going to structure some sort of deal. The back and forth stuff about royalties was really nothing more than sizing each other up (and having a bit of fun in the process).
Since the taping we launched MacKenzie & Marr Guitars with the three Dragons and I can say without reservations they have been superb partners.
Best regards,
John Marr
